This kind of thing cannot be released unintentionally thesedays, can it.

I'm guessing here, but I assume that this was filmed, then either a money making opportunity was spotted (or it was filmed with that potential in mind in the first place) and a sale/licensing agreement was drawn up for sites carrying the video. Either straight cash or a cut of the online proceeds. Which is why free links are removed.

If this really was a leaked video, nobody would be allowed to charge for it and any site carrying it would be sued.

The key point here is that Ms.Hazell and lover boy JOINTLY AND SEVERALLY own the copyright in the recording. So why have her lawyers not served a writ for breach of copyright and an injunction on the publishers?

Of course it is bloody authorised.

I don't mind the link / post being removed either it's not my site and the BGAFD are more than entitled to run it how they wish I just wanted to know why it was removed basically so I know for future reference.

As I said in my post normally the author gets Attn: ........ and the reason but it didn't happen on this occasion.

I didn't post the link to the tape (which was crap in my view) just the name of the site it was on for the guy who was asking about it.

The posting of an 'Attn:' notice is dependent upon a number of factors. e.g. Whether the poster is a newbie; if the post concerned has been moved to another forum; or the reason for it's removal seems sufficiently obvious not to warrant explanation. In this instance, the latter was the reason as we've been serially removing posts linking to pirate copies of this tape.

That you only mentioned the name of the site, rather than the full address, doesn't make any odds really as google, etc, have a way of making the tracking down of these things rather easy - even for the Doctor Watsons among us.

Btw, there is actually a stipulation in the FAQ that Forumites should contact us directly when a post is removed (see 3.712). But seeing as you're a forum Vet with no previous, we'll go easy on you on this time. !wink!

I think in peoples minds the line between home videos and piracy isnt clear, i mean its a home video no one paid to make it, and person in it isnt making money on it, but then Jerry and the guys and girls at SB have paid for it, so it is piracy when you think about it.
