How do UK guys make it in LA?

I based myself there as a director-line producer for over 6 years....
in my experience it is still very easy for any UK boy to arrive in L.A.
and visit the main agents and offer himself as a stud....
Marino quite rightly points out that male talent starts at the bottom
of the heap because there are plenty of young American guys with the
same idea......
I would suggest:
a) take enough money to support yourself for a month and hope to
stay 3 (as a tourist you are Ok....NO ONE from European porn
goes there with work documents !!!)
b) find an agent or get some good contacts before flying.
c) if you have done movies in UK then print out some box covers
at Kinkos on Sunset Blvd

But be warned - if you perform badly in the first job you are dead meat !
And the money for new unproven boys is poor.....and you will start with
crap jobs and lousy pay...unless your luck turns up !
