According to a family source (a member of the lesbian clitterati) Val was girlfriends with Joan Armatrading for some time.
I don't know if ithe above is true or not but the same source correctly informed us about Rock Hudson's sexual 'bent' some years before his tragic death. Apparently he used to like getting dressed up in women's clothes and to be called Mary.
