No, she's not my mum!

But she is vaguely related (an uncle of mine who spends all his spare time tracing the family tree has her as my cousin thrice removed... ie she and I share a common great great grandmother... I think).

I've also heard the Joan Armatrading story, via the son of Christopher Trace, with whom I shared a flat at university.
