The Republic of Ireland is the same price as other European countries such as France, Spain and has been so for many a year.

If you got by with a first class stamp to Spain then you got lucky as it should be 40 pence with the same price to Ireland.

Not a pisstake at all steve56
republic of Ireland/Southern Ireland is international mail so yes its 42 pence, you were lucky indeed sending a letter to Spain on a first class stamp, that should have come back too. Sometimes you can get lucky!
