Came across this brief article in my local rag a short while back. It seems to confirm my own observations.
'LADDETTE' CULTURE
"The ?laddete? culture associated with celebrities such as Sara Cox and Denise Van Outen is on the increase among Britain?s teenage girls, a new study has shown.
Girls as young as 13 are smoking, swearing, fighting, drinking and disrupting school lessons, the Lancaster university research showed. Girls are also getting cheekier, louder, and more open about sex. Dr Carolyn Jackson, from the university?s Department of Educational Research, carried out the study at six schools in the north of England. Around 1,000 pupils completed the questionnaires, and she interviewed 150 of them."

Re: The Girls of Chav Bird High?
Their losing the plot in other words but then 20/25 years ago when I was a school young males were doing exactly that
Treating education as a waste of time and engaging in all sorts of risk taking activites to prove their manhood.Pissing all their money up against the wall every chance they could get
I saw a British Doco not that long ago about a 18/19 year old who was spending most of her money on going out and getting smashed to the point of not remembering.
Not hard to see where it comes from when the parents were into it as well.
Encourging sculling of drinks before you head out is bizarre
Its a deeply ingrained cultural thing that will take generations to break,if ever
cheers

Geezers will be geezers. Nothing wrong with that. The thing is, call me a weirdo, call me perverse if you will, be I don't want the objects of my sexual desire (females) behaving like young geezers. I'd like them to behave in an opposite manner, as befitting the opposite sex.

Equality means they can do what they want, and if they're getting pissed and swearing and vomiting in the streets, how is that different or any less acceptable than blokes doing it.
Geezers will be geezers? Give me a break. It's not attractive in either sex. But neither is saying you can't act like that because you're women.
Oh, and you're on a sticky wicket re Chavs anyway, Dibbers. Firstly, suggesting that snorting coke on a regular basis isn't as bad as being a Chav (see Moss thread), but more significantly advertising your new product (on the Promotions forum) with special emphasis on the Chaviness of one of the performers. If you have such a bee in your bonnet about such behaviour, then you should employ only well turned out young ladies from Miss Wilberforce's Finishing School for Refined Gentlewomen and leave the tattooed, pierced, chainsmoking, sweary boozehounds for your competitors.

Re: The Girls of Chav Bird High?
OUCH!!!!!! LOL
I'm sure theres a GONE WITH THE WIND filly just around the next corner for the good officer.
She'll be found most likely in bible class at a local parish near you
One other comment from the doco was these 2 geezers and one of them came up with the smart comment
"if you don't drink 10 to 15 pints every night your a loser"
Only one loser male & female alike-BRAINCELLS
So is it any wonder they think they need to imbibe so much to have a good time given their most likely playing with half a deck up top
cheers

"if they're getting pissed and swearing and vomiting in the streets, how is that different or any less acceptable than blokes doing it."
Because, it just isn't acceptable to those who were brought up with certain conventions of what is, and is not, acceptable behaviour. Even though I born, and spent the first few years of my life, in a slum, for any women to behave like that was unheard of, unthinkable. Women didn't behave like that then, and you know what? Never mind all that 'wimmin's' lib bollox, we looked up to them because of that. We (men) unconsciously thought they were above all that, which was comforting, in a way. Another thing is that, while 'lairyness' may be annoying in men, it is part of who we are. Guys have to be lairy to show off to potential mates and assert themselves in their male peer group. But that's not who women are. They have very different biological priorities (or did until recently) and seeing them bust their, chavy, vest tops trying to emulate men (why would they want to do that?) is, to chaps of my generation and older, seriously ugly and distasteful.
You've also castigated me for advertising the chaviness of one of the 'ladies' on the VA site. But why be surprised at that? I'm an equal opportunities businessman. I realise that there are folks out there who get a kick from chaviness. I'm just catering to their needs (although there hasn't been any takers yet - the stuff which sells on VA is usually the glamorous, classy models, from the early to mid 90's, who knew how to do their make-up).

My knob is beginning to throb at the very suggestion.

Re: The Girls of Chav Bird High?
My view, for what little it's worth, is that yobbish behaviour is appalling, whether it's lads or ladettes.
Incidentally, the looking up to women in the golden age you referred to, Officer, didn't prevent the view among some of the "lairy" brigade that they could do with "a good slap" every now and then.

As my old man liked to bring up in the heat of any argument he had clearly lost with his "better half"
"You promised to Honor & Obey"
Not smart or clever IMHO
