I'm not saying all folks down there are scumbags and scroungers - I fully accept there are many genuine cases who deserve our support - particularly those folk who are making some kind off effort to help themselves. But that was the impression I got from the place the last time I was there, which was a long time ago. I still vividly recall the loud aggressive effing and blinding at the staff. And looking at the people around me I couldn't help shuddering and thinking about the film 'Deliverance', with Burt Reynolds. My business concluded, I got out of there sharpish.

Thought you would butt in Dribbler.
Objectivity, you wouldn't recognize it if it bit you in the arse.
Of course, anything that runs counter to your philosophy you would describe as negative and snide.

I know the type you are talking about officer dibble...the loud, foul mouthed lazy scumbags of this world who sit on there backsides all day poncing...and i agree i personally think they should be put on an island somewhere away from the rest of us...but the majority of people i met when briefly on the dole were like me desperate to get a job...but if you read papers like the sun and other right wing shitty tabloids you would think everyone is fidlling the system which just ain't true.

To quote your chum Officer Dibble

"Once you resort to personal abuse you've lost the argument"

What ever we might think of each other that has little relevance to any debate

Attack the argument not the person

I don't really care about Benefit Cheats, if they didn't cheat the system the money would just be squandered elsewhere by the state. I disagree with the welfare system anyway, just as I disagree with paying various taxes (in all guises) and seeing very little for it. People who earn a reasonable "top line" vary rarely see that transfer into a decent "take-home" and even then that is pillaged by the state. PAYE is a joke, the pensions system is a rip-off and I'd rather pay for BUPA then have "National Insurance" stolen from me for the dirty disease-ridden wards of the NHS, but every year we are squeezed further and every year we see less for our money.
Those who bother themselves about "benefits cheats" should be more concerned with their own life, self-employment is the only way anyone will able to get something back from the system that robs us blind. Anyone who fiddles, be it their benefits, their declared income, expenses or other should be CONGRATULATED and those pillocks who like to sprag people up for the above should be educated on where all the billions stolen from each and every one of us actually goes... they would then see how pathetic they look getting steamed up about such irrelevant nonsense like the state puppets they are. I refuse to drive the 8 miles a day to and from work because I will not pay nearly 50p per litre of petrol in duty in order to merely propell myself to the place of work where they already take 25% of my pay packet before I actually see it - why should I? I cycle, that way I am doing myself good, I aren't knackering my cars engine with short cold runs and my over-priced petrol can be used on a worthwhile journey, not a miserable sprint to a depressing on full choke.

"We?re not bothered about tax fiddlers ?cause they are bright, they are showing some initiative and enterprise, and we need many more of them (bright people) if we are going to compete with China. So, no one wants to piss them off too much. Also, a lot of people are upset about paying tax, not because they don?t want to chip to the national pot ? but because they feel that noncy middleclass politicians are squandering that money on scumbags and wasters."

Strange, cheating scum is cheating scum in my book, whether he went to Toerag Comprehensive or Harrow, whether he's never worked or is chief fiddler at Merchant Wank Inc. And yes, we really do need more of those enterprising types who would casually lie a widow out of her pension rights.

As for the last point in the piece quoted, during the decade of your beloved heroine I felt my taxes were being wasted on weapons systems that didn't apparently work, instead of being put to use in hospitals, schools etc; and yet I didn't feel the need to use creative accounting to ensure I could skim what I wanted off it. But then that's just me being silly.

Be sure to let us know, lads, if you ever locatedyour right wing heaven. Rather like socialist Shangri-La and liberal Utopia, it doesn't exist anywhere.

My mother works in a jobcentre/benefits office, and has done for many years. The majority of people she sees are genuine, desperate to work, but there are also plenty of unemployable gobshites and objectional weirdos. The City Centre offices are practically a no-go zone, a haven for the stinky, drug-addled underclass and their flea-ridden inbred offsprings. It made me ashamed to go in the place, and all I was claiming was my ssp - I was still (and still am) gainfully employed.
