Annoying XP Bug - any help appreciated

I have a really annoying bug, if I right-click something say just to select it, sometimes it double-clicks and the file opens.

I have the double-click speed set to slow so its not that. I have done the usual spyware / malware / virus scans and nada.

Its really, really fucking annoying, I wouldn't mind if it was predictable but when you have a 200Mb TIFF file and it happens..........

Help please before another Windoze PC goes to heaven.

Have you perhaps got "Single click to open an item" set on ?

Go Start, Control Panel, open Folder options

On the General tab is an option "Single click to opwn an item" and
"Double click to open an item".

Check what you have set on.
