Help - production of web based magazine

Post by FootPlay »

As this relates to magazine work have posted it in the O/T Forum (trust that's ok).

I am looking to produce a magazine but don't want the hassle (and expense) of a print run. Therefore looking to make a magazine that is in a format suitable for download and then if customer wants they can print the various sections (bedtime/bathroom reading...lol).

Can anyone help with suggestions re suitable software etc...I guess the final file would be a pdf file but stand to be corrected.

Anyone already doing this on a web site?

Any help or suggestions very much appreciated.....oh and by the way it is the re-launch of Footsy magazine, I am working with the editor on this one.

Cheers

PDF seems to be the accepted standard for e-zines.

Adobe Acrobat/Distiller is the obvious choice but there are loads of freeware/cheaper options: CutePDF, pdf995,Ghostscript, FreePDF, PrimoPDF, PDF reDirect......

Also - set the Distiller options to embed any fonts that you use and use the PrintOptomized option.

No problem - I have Adobe Acrobat / Distiller so if you get stuck give me a shout, or if you need to I can do the PDF conversion for you.
