Re: news of the word - gay premiership footballers
Most people don't care whether a player is hetrosexual or homosexual and wish the players involved in the apparent 'scandal' would just announce it to the world, if they are gay.
But, understandably, any professional footballers who are gay have serious reservations about publicly coming out. They are probably worried about the reaction from fans, players and of course the press.
Justin Fashanu was one of the only players to make his homosexuality public and he suffered terrible abuse on the pitch and off it.
In a perfect world, we would be a society who could accept people for what they are. But obviously it's not that easy and prejudism and racism is a part of Twenty-First Century culture. So I don't blame the said players for trying to keep it quiet if they are gay.
