Hi Planeterotica'
Lie detector results are not accepted as evidence in English Law. As far as I know.

Hi eroticartist, no i dont think lie detector results can be used as evidence but they would help in making a decision on wether to bring charges and apparently with the latest ones you dont even know it is being used as it picks up on the conversation wich would have been recorded anyway so im sure the police would be using them as are other agencies and apparently they are now being used for benefit claimants and can even work on phone conversations, but how reliable they are i wouldnt know but i doubt that British Courts would ever ecept them as evidence.

Re: RAPE
I think that in most cases, the police officers involved in interviewing the victim will have a clear idea as to whether she (or he) is lying or not from their reaction. It's hard to fake something like that. I think I read once that the police reckon about 3% of rape accusations are false.

Hi Planet,
The reason the authorities don't use them is because the thousands of people who have been wrongly convicted(like me for example)would demand a lie detector test.!furious!
