Would you use this service???

Hi all,

I am setting up a review centre. We have specialists in different area (my own specialist area is music), but we have others that specialise in; bollywood, drama, thrillers, comedy and adult ent.

Basically, the service will work that for ?50+VAT per year you may apply to use our company name, logo and reputation on your DVD's (sign of quality) - there is a application you must complete and membership will not be given to all companies, only those that are reputable and producing good wholesome produce.

Every peice of work you release you can also pay a fee of ?15+VAT to have reviewed by one of our specialist persons (steve deals with adult ents). They will make a) critical analysis of the film which you may wish to use in part or full for advertising purposes. b) advice on any poor areas you may wish to improve prior to release.

Just really want some feedback about whether this is something that anyone would be interested in the adult ents industry, we already do this in the music industry (which is going very well).

Sorry but I just don't get this - I have been in the business for over 20 years and I have never heard of the name "basement studios" (apart form a couple of posts on this site) so exactly waht reputation do you have that is going to act as a mark of quality on dvds?

Also how can one person be a specialist in all areas of the adult dvd market - does he understand the finer details of all the different fetish scenarios? Seems to me that someone is after some free porn and trying to get a bit of cash on the side as well. My measure of quality (or areas of improvement) come from my customers and the fact that I get repeat buys for my products from them.

right first off "FOOTPLAY".....basement studios is a music business (I'm registered as that name as that is me!). The business I am involved in is a company called REVIEW IT UK...you may not have heard of them....but trust me if you look on the back of some dvd's and open your eyes you may just notice....

secondly....if you take the amount of work that goes into the reviewing and the constructive critism, if me or any of my business partners were simply after a free film, cd or whatever then there are much easier ways.

There is a very big reason for that mistrust! Lots of assholes on the net pretending to be something they are not. Everyone who has a 35mm conpact is a photographer, everyone who has a girlfriend who models is an agent, and every one with a website is an expert in the subject.

So you should expect to earn the respect of your peer and expect mistrust on internet.

I dunno, I mean no offense and all that, maybe I`m just a bit naive but when I`m looking at porn or anything else the last thing on my mind is going to be has it recieved the basement studios seal of approval. I mean what service are you providing that these people can`t do themselves?

Whats the difference between your company reviewing it and putting a stamp on it than any other Joe Bloggs on the net?

Not sure why I deserve the venom in your response to my post - you asked for feedback on a proposed service, which I felt I gave. - Your response to my post indicates that this service is already in place (so not proposed at all) so maybe I will look for your seal of quality on dvds - what/which adult dvds does it already appear on? Although I have to add I don't buy many adult dvds and when I do I base my decision mainly on the photos and written word on the case.

I probably would go and smoke some week if I understood what week was. And as for the comments about feet - well we should all tolerate others particular fetishes on this site and appreciate that their is a market for all different types and styles of adult work/entertainment. Or is your seal of approval just aimed at the boy/girl - girl/girl straight sex market?

Hate the misstrust on these and other sites all you want but I am afraid, as others have put better than I can, it goes with the territory.

I do not consider myself a know-it-all but I do know my subject and market and if asked to give feedback and feel that I have something to feedback then I will give it. If you don't like it then don't ask for peoples opinions or at the very least don't shout them down when they give you one.

I've just had a look on the internet for a company called Review It or Review It Uk. Fuck all. What was that you were saying about not wanting to get free DVD's?
