Why undiscussable? Where are these shadowy PC police that monitor your every move? It's important that race is discussed openly. That doesn't give the green light for racists to abuse people.
Given that my wife is black and my son is half-Asian I've long got bored of tolerating racists. That doesn't make me PC - just sick of racists. I don't consider them worth debating with. It's quicker to hit them, and they're mostly too dumb to reason with anyway. And I'm not just talking about white racists - I've had run-ins with black guys who don't think I should be with a black woman.
Racism is dangerous - you just need to look at German history to see what happens when "harmless racism" is allowed to run out of control.

Read my post again, SBB. I WAS talking about the UK (and elsewhere) with regard to the unspoken but prevalent "only whites can be racist" attitude (using the attitude towards events in southern Africa as an example of this).

I did a quick google search under the phrase "only whites can be racist" and came up with pages and pages of hits. For time reasons I only barely skimmed the surface but there appear to be lots of essays, blog discussions etc. going on about the subject.
No doubt though you'd simply dismiss all these sites as "not reputable" so as to fit in with your argument.
But in any case, you're missing the entire point of the thread, methinks. It's not about someone or other standing up an procaliming in a loud voice ONLY WHITES CAN BE RACIST. It's about a far more subtle, underlying and indeed unconscious general attitude prevalent in society today regarding what's "unacceptable" (namely "white-on-black" racism) and what is generally perceived as a far lesser evil, is more "understandable", more "excusable" and sometimes even denied altogether (namely "black-on-white" racism).

Re: BBFC and PC?
Black-on-white racism clearly exists. Of course it does. I've never heard anyone say otherwise.
But you said: "Black-on-white racism can be just as nasty and posionous as the white-on-black variety - but it's probably "racist" to even suggest such a thing!"
You imply that someone is going to disagree with you. But nobody disagrees with you - it seems to be a figment of your imagination. I ask again - who are these invisible "PC" people preventing you from stating the obvious?

You really are missing the point aren't you? Re-read my other posts above. I don't know how much clearer I can be.
I'm not talking about someone standing up here and saying "Hey Wanker - only Whites can be racist, dontchya know?!"
I'm talking about (yawn - for the third time of saying) general underlying, subliminal and even unconscious attitudes that have developed within society after years of being subjected to a barrage of crap from the PC brigade.
Because Political Correctness is just like advertising in the way it works - we moan about all the shite adverts that we're bombarded with on TV, yet gradually over time they wear us down without us even knowing it and we succumb: We'll reach for a particular product in Tescos because it's the one we're familiar with from the telly (even though the ad - amusing as it was at first - now gets on our tits big time) and we'll dial 118-118 to find out a telephone number, even though we find that pair of moustachioed twats in the 118-118 ad as annoying as fuck.
That's what PC is all about - nothing less than a subtle form of brainwashing.
I even catch myself succumbing on occasion, even though I detest Policial Correctness in all its myriad guises: For example just to avoid being "sexist" I'll find myself addressing a business letter "Dear Sir / Madam" instead of "Dear Sirs", even when I know that it's going to be a bloke opening said letter at the other end. Why do I do this? Because I've been "conditioned" by the PC brigade that if a woman opens a letter addressed "Dear Sirs", she may somehow be "offended".
Make no mistake - Political Correctness exists, and you seem to be in a very small minority here of those who deny it, or who think it was all just invented by the Daily Mail.

I've sat back and watched this thread develop and frankly there is a lot you making a hell of a lot of issue out of absolutely fuck all, read OEJ's post - take note and let it go.
Honestly when was the last time you heard the word 'honky' and found it offensive?
Honky derived from honky-tonk was first used around 1875 to describe the patrons of saloons and was not a racial term but a desparaging one (there is a huge difference between the two). Around 1920 it started to be used by white people that wished to hire a black prostitue. They went to the appropriate part of town and honked their horn. By the fifties is simply meant white blue collar workers. In the late sixties it was used as a rebutal for the word nigger by the Civil Rights Movement in America. The whole reason why Honky was chosen by the Civil Rights Movement was because it simply meant white. It was then used in blaxploitation movies in the seventies again as a rebutal. Then it dissappeared into obscurity because it was no longer seen as offensive.
Now if it was an offensive word do you not think it would have survived and been used as such? Do you not think that the origins of it would have had racial connotations? Do you not think that the BBFC would not allow honky in a title if it were considered offensive?
Jesus, they'll want to ban honky-tonk music next......

And ignorance rears it's ugly head yet again.
Pick a national newspaper, anyone, it does not matter. Now read it cover to cover. Where are the issues that affect black, asian, chinese.....
This is why they have their own 'press' so that they can get across the issues and news that affect them. Is that so wrong? Are these newspapers racially motivated like 'The Voice of Freedom'?

Hmmm, the 'thought police' raiding a collector?s shop because it had a Robertson?s golly in the window? I find that very, very, scary indeed. Shades of ?1984?, Stalin?s Russia, Nazi Germany, The cultural Revolution and Pol Pot?s Year Zero. Have our public institutions gone mad? Instead of dragging curio shop proprietors from their premises and taking them away ?for questioning?, shouldn't they instead be out leaning on burglars, knife wielding street muggers and the other assorted nere-do-wells who are preying on ordinary citizens, seemingly at will?
This looks like clear evidence of Jerry?s ?shadowy PC people who monitor our every move?. Yes, monitoring our every move lest we should commit ?thought crimes?. I wonder if the poor shop owner was taken to ?Room 101? and taught the error of his ways with the aid of a cage of rats?

Two things:
1. The trouble is race issues in the main can't be discussed openly or people think they can't because they are put in the draw 'Racism' which only creates more racist opinions and problems.
2. You will be aware that 'racism' is no being used as an excuse by some ethnic minorities when they are being investigated by the Police.
I've wrote this before I think but let me give you one example:
2 am Thursday car pulls up outside 1 of my neighbours music blasting
230 am Friday and Saturday same car pulls up doing the same thing.
This goes on for a couple of weeks so I decide to complain to the neighbour who does nothing so I decide to complain to the Police who do.
I am complaining that some twat is parking outside my house in the early hours playing loud music and waking me up.
Turns out the driver is Asian. Guess what his response was when he was pulled by the Police?
If you cant it was "You?re only doing this because I am an Asian!"
If I ask the question can Government etc do anything that stops ethnic minorities from jumping to this excuse does that make me a racist?
I don't think it does but there are some who do.
