Or you could just stick your hand in a blender. It's as pointless, but the pain is over quicker.

The problem with your cozy little "egalitarian" argument is that ETA has now renounced violence, the Red Brigade no longer exists and in any case NONE of these groups have a history of suicide bomb attacks against passenger aircraft. And what's more, FARC and Shining Path are strictly left-wing guerrilla movements with a domestic agenda and operating solely within their own countries.
Don't forget that before 9/11 no-one had any problem with Muslims on planes either (great title for a new cult B movie methinx!!), but since then the track record of that particular group on aircraft (and indeed trains) hasn't exactly - shall we say - "inspired confidence" among the rest of the travelling public.
It has nothing to do with racism. Once little old ladies with blue rinses start planting bombs, they'll be the ones singled out. But as long as it's Asians / Muslims then they will be the No. 1 suspects.

Re: Scared Britannia
You obviously are so ignorant that you have no idea of what my 'cozy little "egalitarian" argument is'.
Wasn't one of the 21/7 bombers Somalian? Where does that fit in your theory?
A little learning is a dangerous thing.

You tell me (maybe you' d like to provide a reference). If so, that's the first I've heard of it.
The inescapable fact remains though that even if the odd bomber has been of non-Asian / Middle Eastern origin, by far the vast majority of them have been. And in any case, Somalis typically have dark skins and long, angular faces with sharp features, as opposed to the typically more round-faced, flat-nosed features of other sub-Saharan negroes, and so are far more likely to pass for someone of Middle Eastern origin.
I'm not saying that "racial profiling" is foolproof - or even fair. Simply that in the current climate it's going to happen, like it or not.

Re: Scared Britannia
StrictlyB, why are you having problems with racial profiling? You seem to have done that yourself by stating, 'dumb northern wankers' have been 'suckered' by Tony Blair. Aren't there any 'dumb southern wankers' then?

I'll stick up for that prick if you want.
I'll not say he's a good leader, but neither have any other leaders been any good during my lifetime. they've all done whats best for themselves, have they not?
John Major, Margaret Thatcher, James Calaghan................... what did they do for the country? Fuck all, and Tony Blair is just another one. No Priminister can be any good because you can't please everybody at the same time. You can only hope to be 'less bad' than others before you, which when you look at it like that, is debatable.

Dibble said "My Muslim pals are not Islamists (Capitalists, actually). Although they retain nominal membership of the Muslim faith they only go to the Mosque about once a year (for our equivalent of Midnight Mass) and enjoy all the groovy pleasures of a cushty capitalist society - shagging birds, smoking, swigging booze and driving big naff-off Mercs and 4 * 4's. In short, they are top blokes who have no truck with political correctness, affirmative action (the very thought is an insult) or any other middleclass cack."
Sound just like a browner version of Dibble.
