some tech help please

Post by mr.dj »

hi all,

recently my PC has been running slow so I decided to have a spring clean on my add/remove programs on the control panel.

there is approx 25 entries called "windows 2000 hotfix - - - - - " (followed by various numbers.

I dont even know what these are or if i can remove them???

Also, recently when visiting certain websites the page seems to be "zoomed in" ie. the text is large, and have to scroll to see whole page, even left to right. sometimes it is just the numbers which are larger.

I'm not very clued up so please use basic terms!!

cheers

'Windows 2000 hotfix.........' are the security patches from microsoft, do not remove unless you really, really need to and know what you are doing.

I would suggest running Crap Cleaner

This will clean the crap from your pc and there is also an option to scan and fix issues. It is also freeware.

Then run the usual suspects AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy
quis custodiet ipsos custodes
