Certainly 'arry has bought some "well dodgy" players over the years.
Weren't there rumours that West Ham sacked him in 2001 because they thought he was taking bungs? I've a few mates who are West Ham fans and they all reckon he's got more brown envelopes than the post office. !shocked!

I agree that it was all hearsay with no firm evidence of wrongdoing. I also do not like the way the BBC are keeping the story going through their news broadcasts to the exclusion of more important events.

One thing nobody has really mentioned is the hypocrisy of Bolton chairman Phil Gartside (a board member at the FA I believe).
He was seen on camera discussing the transfer of Jay-Jay Okocha with the agent he later accused of "trying to tap up" the player in the press (no doubt done for the benefit of the fans as Bolton continued to claim they would never sell Okocha).
Although he (Gartside) is aware of the original "illegal approach" made by the agent, in private he chides him almost as an afterthought, and continues negotiating the sale of a player with an agent he knows has broken the rules!
