totally agree, the way forward is to be more open and supportive. it would help if the Roman Catholic faith would change their view on the use of condoms. young adults are going to have sex at 13,14 or whatever so society should accept this and use education and support, free condoms, morning after pill etc, instead of moralistic wringing of hands and self righteous condemnation.

I`m sorta of two minds. My sister was 13 when she met up with a 23 year old. The first thing I thought was what was the matter with him that he had to go after young schoolies. Turns out girls his own age knew what he was like.

there was something in the papers this week saying that teenagers who were pregnant are smoking in the belief that the baby will be smaller and less painfull when giving birth.

Oh yeah you're right! I'm not saying it's a good thing we have more teen pregnancies than the rest of the world but if it were adults (responsible) instead it would make us look better.

How old is everyone on here - I suspect times have changed since you were teenagers. when I left school at nearly 16 I only knew one virgin out of loads of my mates!
I had quite strict parents - had to be in earlier than most etc. but I still did it.
What I am trying to say is it's totally natural - and you can't stop em!

14 was a bad time for me the epilepsey kicked in in may 1970 so i was back/fourth to day hospitals.that lasted till 1978.

Yeah, this country is full of hypocrisy. That's why we have the highest teen pregnancy rate in Europe. If only we were more like the Dutch or Scandinavians.
