My spam filters (BT internet) are pretty good - but has anyone discovered a way to avoid being deluged with these fake (or otherwise) American stock offers!!!

I know they're a pain in the arse. The spam filter on Thunderbird has cut 75% of them out, but they occasionally use different addresses. I'm getting them through on my yahoo account now too.

Yes, but at the moment "the solution" is in the hands of a team of international lawyers as it may be seen as a DDoS attack. Basically send 10,000 emails you should be able to handle 10,000 opt out requests and if you don't opt people out first time you should be able to handle the subsequent requests.
I'll reveal more if it is legal (don't want to drop BGAFD in it).
