That's a very good point. I can see that by teaching people that certain harmless things are wrong ( and using public pressure and shame to enforce it ) then it becomes easier to make them accept other pointless directives.

I always wondered how the argument that sexual repression was used to control people stood up. Suddenly it makes sense. Thanks.

I've been looking around and as far as I can see there's talk about cencoring porn only because there's too much access to it and it's on other websites but other than that, nothing.

In the States you have freedom of expression here we have repression and corruption.

Earlier this month we had the mid term elections (Governor, Judges, Senate, etc) and it went to the Democrats thankfully because of the war but these demos are what they call "centerist" which to me is close to being a "moderate" Republican. They meet in the middle somewhere. So while we have freedom of speech which they'll protect it don't mean they'll try to censor certain stuff. You already can't say on the radio here disparaging things about the president. If you do you risk having you FCC licence revoked. Clearchannel who owns a lot of the stations in the US have certain reign over programming so they don't tell the truth when it comes to the news AND they let all this musical garbage play on the radio. So much for free speech!
