Re: Gary Moore
Love his playing but saw him live a few years back and had zero stage presence. He has great feel and a gorgeous sound.

Blues alive is a stunning live album, more hot licks than a Viv Thomas lesbian movie

Re: Gary Moore
Gary is a great guitarist, but a total trend jumper. He admits himself that if he was rich he'd be making jazz records. He continually pours scorn on the 'heavy metal' albums he made during the 80's. Didn't see him complaining about them at the time. If that type of music was as popular now he'd still be making them. Fact.
"Victims of the future" is the best album he has played. "Black Rose" a close second. I bought his first blues album and it was crap.

Re: Gary Moore
A right bastard as well though.
I was into Gary Moore after seeing him in 1984 at Castle Donington, he was flaming that day.
Got all his albums including Japanese imports and couldn't believe how good he was, then finally got the chance to see him live at Birmingham Odeon and waited in the freezing cold with about 6 other lads hoping for an autograph, especially as I had the Japanese live import.
He turned up and brushed past us all like we were invisible. Put a real downer on the gig, but after, about 12 of us waited and he fucked us off again. I swear blind I NEVER played his albums again after that. The cunt.
Oh, this was the same venue that major US ames at the time like Meatloaf, Twisted Sister, Motley Crue all signed for fans.
Gary Moore? I shit 'im

Birmingham Odeon - those were the days - great venue - queing down the alley way and catching the bands as they left fromt he stage door.
Did you ever catch Be-Bop-Deluxe there? - another great band and Bill had loads of time for his fans.

No, didn't see him, but yes, the alley way is still there. A few years ago, I did take a nose down there and the bands names written by fans in silver or black were still legible. Some like Magnum and Quiet Riot I had forgotten about!!
