The Hitcher remake film

Post by Ace »

Now, I'm dead against remakes, especially when the original is so fucking good, and I heard of this classic being remade, I thought, 'bollocks!'
However, it does sound like it might be OK.
Here's a trailer (if I've done it right)

Be intresting what resident film critic Terry Stephens makes of it. And why not?

Anyone we know star in it and is it Hollywood? If answer is no then it might be good.

If it gets the big hype then it will be cobblers. Willing to give it a try with an open mind, assuming it isn't Hollywood.

After the fucking wicker man with Nicolas Cage they should quit remaking movies. He`s almost as bad as Keanu Reeves. Why not just get a plank of wood with a face painted on

Bukkake shots where you are with a few other guys...is fucking gay.

In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.

What's the point ? My position on such matters is 'stick with the source'. The most pointless remake was Gus Van Sant's 'Psycho' which was shot-for-shot. As much as I admire Van Sant's work I think this was poor judgement. There are some films that are untouchable .. an example would be 'Chinatown'. I'm not saying 'The Hitcher' is peerless, but i think it's sufficiently iconic to resist a remake.

I'm still against remakes. So very few have even been decent. 80% have been complete wastes. I'm not sure Rutger Hauer can be topped.

Wasn't it Roman Polanski who questioned the logic of remaking good films when there are so many bad ones in more need?

This would be the same Roman Polanski who made Oliver Twist?

Please no, the original is one of the few films that ever scared me.
