ordering videos & customs-i need help

i want to order some old videos from the us, but i'm not sure about the custom regulations in the uk.

a few q's:

is it legal?
will they check?
will they charge me money?

anything else i need to know will be much appreciated!

You should try and find a european supplier. but if you've allready found the titles you're looking for in america, then just order them. you'll soon see whats what. the worst thatll happen is theyll conficate them. if the porn is legal then thatll be the end of it.

If it's straight hardcore you should be ok. Anything else could be dodgy.

However, if the tapes are viewed by some thatcherite born again fundamentalist christian, or a customs officer who wants to make a name for himself then you can expect "The Knock".

Bollocks. Customs' own public guidelines state that they won't confiscate porn within the R18 guidelines. If they think it is outside the guidelines they might confiscate, but they wouldn't come knocking! (Unless of course it's kiddie porn, in which case you can expect a coachload of plods at 5.00 in the morning, but you couldn't get kiddie porn from a US supplier anyway.)

Depends what quota they have to make up that week. If they havn't had much on for a month or two they might decide to make an example of you. Come round at 4am, kick the door down and drag you kicking and screaming naked out of bed by the hair in front of all the neighbours )

Order in small quantities & chances are you'll be fine. The worst would be confiscation. I've ordered untold nos(one at a time cos they're post free) from adultdvdboxoffice.com who are much cheaper than anything the UK or Europe can offer.

Here's my two penneth:

I've ordered quite a few times from a US firm www.adultdvdnow.com over the last couple of years. Maybe 6 orders in that time. Each order had on average 4 titles. I have found that the delivery time is good using Fed Ex International Priority and the service from the company is good. You can track orders via the Fed Ex Website and check online status of the order through company too. I have received ALL the orders without exception. Titles ordered included the Barely Legal stuff. Prices I've found also are very competitive. I mean 25 US dollars isn't bad. Most of the european sites like vidshop and ourchoice charge at least 25 quid. They don't send the cases, just the discs and the inserts from the cases as a priority letter.

As an aside, I thought I read on melonfarmers that its now legal to import porn?
