Life on Mars Series 2

Post by Ace »

Just as good as the last series, picking up where we left off. Some great one-liners and a usual great supporting role for Philip Glenister as Gene Hunt in top form.
Welcome back!!

Great show.... interesting to see the back streets of Manchester had high pressure sodium street lights with shiny modern aluminium columns in 1973 though!

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

Believe it or not I've never seen this show, but have heard only good things about it. In any case every one seems to be raving about it in the various forums I frequent.

Is it a comedy, a straight drama or a comedy-drama mix?

I wouldn't mind checking it out right from the beginning on DVD as I usually enjoy "time travel" stuff.

Crime/Drama with a few comic lines thrown in. Imagine the era of 'Sweeney' type policing, Mark III Cortinas, and flared trousers and you're on the way.

Loving it but I'm sure series 1 had a different (better) theme tune, or was it always this 1.

Gene Hunts onlines are amazing, there was one in episode 2 that had me rolling but don't wanna spoil it for anyone who didn't watch the 2nd episode on bbc4. For those who did it refers to Hunt saying to DI Tyler 'You know, if I was as worried as you...........' lol

Fucking top notch, unlike a lot of shows the second series looks to be delivering to the same standards as the first, if not better.

Bukkake shots where you are with a few other guys...is fucking gay.

In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.

Gene Hunt is becoming one of the great television characters of recent years - sure I read somewhere that there may be a spin-off series set in the '80s, anyone know if this is the case?
