70s kids film.....help

Howdy all!!

Right not alot to go on here,but what now seems like every saturday morning when I was a kid there was a fim on. Now I really cant tell you a bally lot about it apart from as i recall it was about a couple of (maybe Victorian) kids who I think had moved out to the country. And if i remember right they became friends with three children (a boy and two girls i think) who it turns out died in a house fire years before and were really ghosts. The only other thing I can really remember is at the end when the credits are rolling each of the kids waves to the camera and says some thing like "come back soon"

How vauge is that? Trying typing that into google and seeing what you come back with. But once again any help and/or feedback is really appreciated.

Could this be THE AMAZING Mr.BLUNDEN (1972) with Peter Sellers late wife,Lynne Frederick.The story line has the same pattern and takes place in Victorian times.

This (above) was a cinema film....if not,it might be part of the CHILDREN'S FILM FOUNDATION series that started in the 1950,and went on for a few decades after that.They run for 55mins.

These had a cinema release & also shown on TV.

I'm not sure if I'm correct with this one but its certainly a seventies film, does 'The amazing Mr Blunden' sound like it would fit the bill?

Been on imdb and from what i can fathom you are both correct. Going to look into it tomorrow. But on the face of it,looks like you were both spot bloody on!! The wealth of knoledge on this forum never ceases to amaze me. Well done gentlemen.
