Back in the 70s when i was driving trucks i pulled into Watford Gap services on the M1 in the early hours of the morning i went into the cafe and got a cup of tea sat down chatting to some other truckers and Bernard Manning walked in, he got himself a cuppa and came over and joined us he had been doing the comedy at the Footballer of the year awards in London and on his way back home to Manchester his Rolls Royce had broken down, he sat and chatted with us for ages a very funny man and never told a racist joke when he sat with us and came accross as a nice guy, anyway one of the other drivers was goint to Manchester and gave Bernard a lift whilst he left his chauffeur to sort the Roller out !thumbsup!
