Monty Python - Favourite Scene??

Post by Shopgirl »

Travelling in a car today and the driver put on a cd of Monty Pythons "The Life of Brian", I saw the film a couple of years ago and forgot how funny it was, however my favourite Monty Python film is the "Holy Grail"

My favourite scene is where King Arthur meets the Knights that say Ni and the Black Knight, I had to look it up to get the right wording but here it is:

King Arthur cuts off both of the Black Knight's arms and then says "Look, you stupid Bastard. You've got no arms left.
Black Knight: Yes I have.
King Arthur: *Look*!
Black Knight: It's just a flesh wound.

Anyone else a Monty Python fan - if so what is your fav.scene?

Too many to mention.

Pontius Pilate speaking about his friend Biggus Dickus is one that has me laughing like a loon every time. But for sheer gross-out comedy, it has to be Mr Creosote in The Meaning Of Life.

Sex Education/ the stoning scene in Life of Brian/ Killer Rabbit / Lancelot storming the Castle*.

*This is supposed to be a happy occasion- it's not a time for moaning, or bickering, or "who killed who"....................

I recently went through the series. A lot I didn't recall; some I'd never seen. Others ("Undt now ve see ze Pantomime Princess Margaret involved in a life or death struggle with ze breakfast tray") I knew but had somehow managed to wipe from my conscious mind. The old favourites (the Parrot, Lumberjack, the Gumbies, Upper Class Twits) still make me laugh. Some of it has dated----but not nearly as much as you might think.

That last one is known as The Yorkshiremen Sketch----and was only done on stage, as far as I can recall. Sheer genius.

Proving how someone is a witch:

"She turned me into a newt."
Embarassed silence.
"I got better."
