I don't buy that. Oasis have done charity gigs before, (like the Beckhams actually) but don't shout their mouths off about it. Oasis aren't as active as U2 -I'll give you that- but if we're talking about morals then maybe Bono should have denounced his Catholicism, and given his buddy, the Pope, a punch in the mouth when he stated that Aids was bad for Africa, but condoms were worse.

Yep, that's true. It's just a pity he wasn't raising awareness about the stupidity of the Popes words, and how many lives those words have condemned to death. It's funny that those words from one man will kill a hundred times more people now than what Bush/Blair's armies could kill in Iraq, but who are deemed the evil-doers?

As for Bono being Catholic: Wiki states that he was brought up by Roman Catholic parents, in a predominantly Roman Catholic country, and he likes to be seen with the Pope as often as possible. He's never denounced Catholicism, or even criticised it as far as I'm aware (Oasis have.......though who haven't they criticised......lol).

Yes I would subscribe (Like may others) to the opinion that Bono is a "twat". In fact I believe you can purchase "I hate Bono" T Shirts. A friend of mine actually stayed at Bono's house in the South of France and apparentley he wears those stupid sunglasses around the house day and night, now I'd say that's very TWATTISH!

I didn't read all the page! Only the bit about his father......oops.

Anyway, like you said to Flat_Eric about the price/carbon print. His Catholicism/Anglicanism isn't relevent. If the Pope is killing the people Bono's trying to save, then he's not as moral as you make him out to be (which was the main debating issue I entered this thread to discuss).

Just checked and he's a born again christian, so not Catholic. I don't know what these 'born agains' think about condom use, but they're wierd anyway.
