Had a go on one a while ago, and whatever I viewed on the flip screen is what was recorded.
Cue last week, and recorded a gig with a new camcorder. I turned cam on side for full length shot of guyitarist and what was viewed on flipscreen SHOULD have been recorded onto disc.
WRONG!!
When I played it back afterwards on the screen was shown sideways on. Can I do anything bearing in mind the disc is now formatted and any smartarses suggesting I turn my TV on its side can fuck off as well

Re: DVD Camcorder help please
You can rotate the video in a video editor.
I know Premier Pro can do it. If you need more info I'll mail you off forum.

Re: DVD Camcorder help please
Actually you can also do it in Windows Moviemaker:
Put your video clips on the timeline or story board view.
Click tools at the top, and select "video effects".
Scroll down and you can select either "rotate 180" or "rotate 90".
Drag whichever effect you want onto each clip in the time line.
