Just bought the latest installment of 24 and have to admit Bauer has done it again...hooked me right in....
of course it has flaws and sometimes a little too cute but in an awful way it was good to see a nuke bomb finally go off ..i mean how many times could jack Bauer save the US

finnished disc one and cant wait to crack on ...any one else have a 24 fettish?

I love 24 but thought this series was awful. The first few episodes were as good as ever, then it got very stupid. I didn't even bother watching the last few weeks.

oh dear... i thought the beggining was a bit too cute ...his escape then finding a mobile phone with GPS active already on it...but i guess you have to play along otherwise i would have stopped on episode 2 on series one.

without spoiling it ...is this the last series?

I have to agree with Ned in that the last series wasn't very good.

In my opinion there's been a steady decline from the first series, which was brilliant, with each series since not being quite as good as the previous and it's just becoming more and more implausible.

I think 24 rocks like fucking thunder! Jacks da man! Loved series 6. Watched it on Sky but will enjoy it even more now that I have the dvd.

Maybe I shouldnt question the venerated professors superior knowledge on this subject but er...My phone has GPS on it too. Whats so incredible about that?

Besides its good tv. I mean how can one man do all that stuff within 24 hours without taking a nap, a shit or time out for a quick cuppa? He'd be dehydrated, constipated and tired right there.

Imagine how dull it would be if he spent a quarter of the show getting his 8 hours kip. that would be pretty shitty.

Haven't seen Season 6 but read on the net somewhere that the general opinion about it was so bad that the producers actually agreed publicly that it was a bit shit and promised to really ramp up the quality for Season 7. Season 1 was so fresh that I lost interest over the next couple of series. I decided to tune back in for Season 5 after hearing it was great and wasn't disappointed. Really loved it. Thought the actor who played the corrupt president was a joy.
