If I'd phrased my initial post as

Domain of OUT of control egos, then it would have made more sense

All I'm saying is that there is some bad shit going on when you can't trust your teammates or crew

The stoner/capirosi(spelling?)team were the same as the hamilton/alonso
yet when the youngster stoner became the senior member via results nothing but support and no mention of bias by the crew

The concept of team/constructors championship in F1 is a joke IMHO

I don't think all F1 team mates are like Hamilton v Alonso. I just think Alonso saw a young kid that's a better driver, and felt threatened.

Threatened he may well have felt but there seems to be this intrinsic feel in F1 at the top teams that one driver is always favoured

You'd think with that much money they'd be able to find 2 decent loyal crews for each driver

Then again F1 without controversy is a rather predictably boring animal

True in ideal world- but in the end it's not a team sport.

Yeah, I get one you mean about the teams. Each driver having his own strategists and crew.

What I could put forward is that maybe inter-team rivalry is healthy and keeps the drivers on their toes? A bit like strikers in a football team. You're less complacent if you have a rival sat on the bench who can come in and do the business.

The only way you're going to get 2 drivers being team mates is if you scrap the drivers championship and just have a team championship.

Simple answer?
One driver [plus spare for injury etc.] per team.

It would mean less cars though which might not make it as exciting and turn the fans away.

I say keep the egos! If you don't like egos there's always snooker or something!
