The most depressing programme on TV, should be sponsored by the Samaritans.

Pretty lame these days, apart from Garry and Minty who remind me when a mate lived with me years ago.
Mind you, that tasty gal who was thrown from a car would certainly give Roxy a run in the skanks-on-legs competition!!

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

Hey Mr 56

Not been watching Eastenders for a long, long time now. The writing has become even more depressing than usual and none of the plot lines/characters are any thing other than (at best) annoying.

I made a point of never watching the show untill a few years ago when Martin Kemp was in it. For a brief period it was must see TV for me. The whole story line between him and Phil I thought was gripping. The conclusion of which was pretty good as well.

So in short I missed Thursday nights episode. How ever I do intend to try and catch it tomorrow if im back from work in time.

Why?

Well mainly because I think June Brown is fantastic. She is the only decent actress they have and some what of a national treasure (imvho) Have you ever seen her out of character? She is a real good time gal and quite blue with it. Very funny lady indeed.

The other reason is the best two episodes ever made of Eastenders were pretty much like this one. ie talking about the past and things that we the viewer could not know. Turning the episode into more of a play than just another episode of a long running show.

The episode with just Ethel and Dot probably makes it into my top 20 TV moments. The writing and performances were just stunning. The other being Martin Kemp visiting his Mother. Not only was this fantastic because Shiela Hancock was in it (a joy to watch every time) but because of the subtle hints at things such as incest and child abuse, that were never fully touched on. Leaving the viewers imagination to wonder.

God dont I waffle some bollocks. Sorry had a few. Tell ya what....I would shag that Tanya bird init!!

The problem with the episode it was just so achingly dull. Frau Bristolian is a soap-fiend but even she has had enough of the dreary story lines. And what happened to Jim? Is he brown bread?
