I?m Backing Obama

Post by Officer Dibble »

I?ve been watching the old Presidential election campaign unfolding with some interest, as this time there?s real choice of candidates. Will the next President be a black man? A woman? Or an elder statesman? Who knows, eh? But I reckon my preference would be Barak Obama.

Why? Well, he looks presidential, he sounds presidential, and although his policies probably wouldn?t deviate very far from what the others would pursue, electing a blackman with a Muslim sounding name would throw a huge curve at America?s enemies ? particularly those in Europe. Yes, those snooty elitist euro fuckers who tend to gather in Strasbourg to shaft the people, line their own pockets, quaff Dom Perignon, and talk sniffy diplomatic bollocks. Their elitist intellectual sneering has an easy target in George Bush, so let?s see how they squirm if an ethnic type steps into his shoes. They won?t be able to suggest he?s stupid, prejudiced, or otherwise bad. That wouldn?t sit well with their poncy ?diversity? and ?ethnic empowerment? agendas. So, whatever Barack decided to do they would have to bite their tongues. It would be so much fun.

Could Barak be the new JFK, as some have suggested? Or is he full of hot air?

Obama does talk a good game.As for that Mcain fella. Why is he going for President?.He'll be dead before the end of his term.Hilary Clinton is just in it for the popularity contest and of course for the women's vote.

I wonder if she likes cigars? !grin!

I agree with Dibbs AND Mike? Wow!

Barack is indeed the man- and he doesn't want a dream ticket with Hillary. So here's my guess for running mate- Caroline Kennedy. A key supporter of his. And for the Clintons- why have cotton when you can have silk?

Cue collapse of the Bill and Hillary show.

Can someone educate me why the electing process in America so long-winded?

In Britain,as far as i know, polling day is announced a Month or two before the event to give time for canvassing propaganda and the traditional bitching of each others manifesto's,not forgetting the airtime the respective parties get on the TV or Radio.

Or is it just America being America?

It is state and federal law co-existing. Don't forget the primaries/caucuses used to be in May many moons ago- now they get earlier and earlier.

Don't forget primaries and caucuses are two different forms of election, as well!

The Conventions- where the choice is made- are in the summer. They are more rallies than conferences.

Usually, the choice is pre-determined: the mandated delegates are in place. But for the Democrats, for the first time in many years, it may go right to the Convention.

If Obama tries to take on Big Business like he's been talking about
then the JFK scenario is a real possibility

For the first time in decades, I really couldn't care less who is elected over there. The reason Mitt whatshisface had to quit was because he'd done so many backflips from previous policy positions in order to please the populace that no one knew what he stood for any more. Though Clinton and Obama aren't trying the same contortions as he did, they are still signing up to whatever popular views they can to achieve mass appeal.

McCain seems to be more of his own man, being quite unpopular with the right of his own party. I'd imagine he'll face a Clinton/Obama (or Obama/Clinton) ticket come the election. As for who'll win---the Septics have voted in a retarded chimp for two full terms. How can anyone guess what they'll do next.

I'd rather not have a women that is either going throught the menopause or just about getting there in office, can you imagine Mrs. Clinton in that time of month with her finger on the button? No thanks.
