I think the reason is they want the place for asylum seekers .

They can give it to asylum seekers. Glorious views of the gas, chemical and petroleum works at sunset. Explosions and toxic illnesses annually.

It's all part of that fat cunt John Prescott's Pathfinder policy. Demolish Victorian houses which were often well built and just need a bit of doing up, and replace them with noddy boxes built by companies funding the NuLabor Party. Don't worry, it's all legal, and if some of the little people get fucked in the arse in the process, tough luck, mate, that's progress.

I can forsee a time in the not too distant future when demolition of perfectly good houses will be widely encouraged by the 'authorities' in order to build new 'green' homes - and I'm not talking the rundown terraces or empty council houses we see knocked down now.
It will keep people in work and certain folk in back handers but it will all be for 'environmental' reasons

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

Having lived for 4 years in Middlesbrough a while back, I'd back bulldozing all of the houses in the centre of town.

The only good part of Boro is the University and the shopping precincts. The houses are dilapidated, with a great deal of drug dealing, prostitution and crime. The TS1 postcode area is actually uninsurable.

I was burgled 4 years running, assaulted (still have a scar next to my right eye) and had friends whose cars were stolen and even a friend who was raped.

If I never go back, it'll be too soon.
