Sex and the city.

Post by stripeysydney »

I just want to know peoples views on this film and the series. It seems to have been cult viewing and has watched by millions(single girls in their thirties and shirt-lifters)

I once watched one episode for about half an hour and couldn't believe hot how empty, shallow, dumb and insulting to the intelligence of ordinary folk this series was and is. Was it specifically aimed at the gay-community? It made "Brigitte Jones" look Shakespearian and I f*****g hated her.

I nearly threw up the other night watching Jonathan 'lisper' Ross brown-nosing Sarah (Red Rum) Jessica Parker going on and on about how much the Brits luuuuurved the film and the series. Not once did he say that there were quite a few people that were'nt fans at all, like the farmer's wife when asked on his show last saturday, "Are you a fan of S.A.T.C. then?" "No" was the reply and so 'Wossie' moved on sharply..

I know the men will probably say, " A pile of shite," but it would be interesting to know what the ladies think too.

S.A.T.C is a wafer thin programme for the wafer thin minded people and partly to blame for British chavvy birds(and some blokes) mouthing words such as O.M.G,sooooo,awesome and other words that chavvy Yank birds have brought upon us.

Funny thing is it's that ilk of woman that watches it.

I must confess I actually enjoyed it. Ive got them all on dvd but it doesnt mean I will see it in the cineam though. I guess that makes me a closet homo. I'm sure your opinions of me have sunk even lower but I do make porn films so I dont expect people witll think much of me anyway.

...Oh and I aint no batty bwoy shirt lifter either...and I like Desperate Housewives. So if anyone thinks I'm gay then this is one faggot that will kick aaaasssss!!!!

And whats wrong with shallow stupidity???..if I want to watch something with intellectual weight and depth I'll watch The Matrix instead.

I like watching girlies.. I just dont do the romance thing is all..Far too saccharine. SATC had some hilarious moments, namely the one when Kim Catrall had enough with blokes and was seeing that Latin lesbian bird Sonia Braga who went down on her and she squirted in her face. I never expected that and was surprised this was even allowed on tv.

Yeah some of it was overly girly but then you have to expect that as that was the shows format.

Hey I love 24 too, so do I get my bloke wings back?

I'm with Terry... I watched most of the episodes as sometimes you want a bit of frothy viewing... and with Kim Cattrall getting her kit off on a regular basis I can't see why it's classed as purely a "girlie and gay man" series. I also like Desperate Housewives, too, even though that's never contained any full on nudity.

I also like The Shield and The Wire... blokey enough for you?

Yo Bob The Shield is the best.

Eva Longoria is always in her underwear for some reason or other and if there was one reason to watch it then that is it!

To quote legendary northern philosopher, Mr Paul Calf.."bag o'shite". Women at work love it for the fashion, pillow biters love it because of the fashion, and SJP looks like a bloke in drag.

Thats a very valid point. Why is SATC considered gay if blokes like it?

I just find it a very amusing and entertaining show. In fact it was girls that turned me onto it in the first place.

Some might consider some blokey events a bit gay...Like football. All those sweaty blokes jumping on each other scoring goals as an excuse...But who am I to judge?

Its very well written(see quotes from all episodes below)but it easy to see why it might not appeal to some people of both sexes

Definitely generational I think
