I went off sherry when I was about 12. Seriously, I once heard mi nan say a glass of sherry warmed her up in the winter so a decided to have a glass of my dad's before school when it was cold. I got a right good hiding when it came to Christmas and the bottle was empty. He thought my mum was a closet alcoholic until I fessed up.
