Ringo Starr is refusing to sign autographs for fans anymore.
The Beatle has announced to fans in a video message titled Sorry, No More Signing Stuff on his official website that he would no longer reply to fan mail or sign any memorabilia.
Ringo, wearing sunglasses and flashing the peace sign at the camera, announced: "This is a serious message to everybody watching my update right now. Peace and love. Peace and love.
"I want to tell you after the 20th of October please do not send fan mail to any address you have. Nothing will be signed after the 20th of October. If that is the date on the envelope, it's gonna be tossed.
"I'm warning you with peace and love I have too much to do. So no more fan mail. Thank you, thank you. And no objects to be signed. Nothing.
"Anyway, peace and love, peace and love."
The 68-year-old singer from Liverpool - who now has homes in Los Angeles, the South of France and Surrey - has already upset fans in his hometown earlier this year.
When he released his new album Liverpool 8 he told TV presenter Jonathan Ross he rarely returns to his home city and doesn't miss a thing about it. When asked if he would move back there, he pulled a face.
Don't you just dig the "I'm warning you with peace and love" line
The guy is considered such a tosser in Liverpool now that even a foliage sculpture of Ringo was beheaded!

Ringo refuses autographs.
Paradise is for the blessed. Not the sex-obsessed.
Re: Ringo refuses autographs.
Probably fed up with the professional /commercial autograph hunters bombarding him with stuff that goes straight on eBay.
We have need of you again, great king.
Re: Ringo refuses autographs.
Hardly going to be scarcity value if he's been signing stuff willy-nilly for the last 40+ years.

Have you noticed how many professional Scousers who profess to love the place don't actually live anywhere near Liverpool... at least Ringo was being honest!!
How did such a shit hole full of skivers, malcontents and yobs ever become European Capital of Culture??? "give it us, or I'll knife ya!"

Probably a for career reasons, same as in any line of work. A few weeks back BBC 2 gave Alexei Sayle a good three hours to slag it off, but ultimately even he had to admit defeat and has plans to move back.

Who knows? Perhaps also-rans Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Newcastle and Oxford were considered even bigger shit holes.
I rather like Liverpool, btw.

Never seen the point in collecting autographs - it's on a par with train spotting. Why anyone would want Ringo's autograph is a mystery, but good on him for telling everyone to piss off.

Saw a great quote the other day.....
"The Beatles are dying in the wrong order !"

I can sort of understand someone wanting an autograph as proof/memento of a face to face personal meeting with someone, but to send an object to them to sign I can't understand.
I once had a minor snooker pro force his autograph onto me! Even after i told him I didn't want it he did it anyway!
