It's debatable whether it was a political point, either way he was right to raise it, this is the second death that's happened in this borough, I am glad he raised it, Gordon the fucking moron is far too busy saving the world economic woes...not! to see anything else on the horizon, if it seemed like political point scoring to you Col, you should take a long hard look at yourself, this is a tragic disgusting case, and nobody has learnt anything since the Victoria Climbie case..read on, from the blog you posted.
"Gordon is Emotionally Retarded
For all his many failings Tony Blair had a brilliant sense for the public mood, he was able to articulate on emotional subjects sensitively. The most talked about issue this morning in offices and workplaces across the country is not the unemployment figures, it is how could this happen again in the same borough again?
Gordon has just demonstrated that he is completely incapable of sensing the popular mood. Asked a straight forward question about the death of Baby P he went into a prepared answer full of bureaucratic jargon. His tone was really off key and made worse when he made a cheap partisan allegation. Clearly something is wrong in the Haringey Children's Services department despite the Victoria Climbi? inquiry.
The Children's Services director should not investigate her own department. Sharon Shoesmith should resign
I agree she should go, the astonishing thing about her statement, even before she had got to the vile facts of this case, was that she was not resigning over it..Is nobody responsible for anything anymore?

Sorry, Liz...Guido is the ultimate point scorer and the ultimate small state, fuck-the-poor sockpuppet....in a small state, kids would be murdered like this left, right and centre. But he isn't a racist- he is a half-Indian Irishman after all, and does put the boot into Nazi meatpuppets on his site.
This NSPCC 'decade-long' FULL STOP campaign is really working, isn't it, eh?
What a load of middle-class bollocks designed to salve people's consciences.
Give ordinary people the resources through democratically elected local authorities to deal with these matters. Yes, it's happened twice in Haringey.Er- ever been to Haringey? The demographic should have led to this sooner, and not taken this many years.
And where were the Met or the Great Ormond Street Hospital in all of this?
For Call Me Dave to argue for Haringey Council to be 'taken over' is kneejerk politics of a kind now linked with him like glue.

"This NSPCC 'decade-long' FULL STOP campaign is really working, isn't it, eh?"
No, but thats not the issue, and by it's very nature is just that, A campaign, they are not social services, they cannot act on what has not been reported to them, and this case wasn't.
"What a load of middle-class bollocks designed to salve people's consciences."
So the NSPCA only caters for the middle classes, who are they?
"Give ordinary people the resources through democratically elected local authorities to deal with these matters."
I am not sure how ordinary people could have dealt with this issue, they have no training in child welfare, social services do.
"Yes, it's happened twice in Haringey.Er- ever been to Haringey? The demographic should have led to this sooner, and not taken this many years."
Yes I believe I have been to Harringey at some point, and Pladstow, an equally viscious place, demographics dont really matter, this could have happened in Sheffield, it would still have been horrendous, and the social services still culpable.
"And where were the Met or the Great Ormond Street Hospital in all of this?"
I concede your point about the Met, my dislike for them is second only to Thatcher. As for GT Ormand st, you should read the facts, it was a junior doctor at GOS that first reported this matter to social services...a JUNIOR doctor, the consultant that dealt with the child, spent just five minutes with him, and decided she could not be bothered anymore, as he was too fractious, the fucking moron should be struck off.
For Call Me Dave to argue for Haringey Council to be 'taken over' is kneejerk politics of a kind now linked with him like glue.
Again, I may be wrong, show me a press cutting or link where CMD himself has called for Haringey council to be "taken over" he has called for an Independant enquiry, because the leader of HG soc services, is also the chair of the complaints commitee, she should be in prison.

But it isn't working- is it? And Haringey social services do need a review- and this independent inquiry is now being carried out. Lets wait for the outcome, Liz.

A socio-economic analysis required to answer that question...but who has 'ownership' in the NSPCC. And a 'decade-long' campaign! What the f?

Through local authorities that they elect. Call Me Dave wants Haringey council to be taken over. All of it? The dustmen? The football pitches? The social services are being investigated- and they may well be taken over. The enquiry will report in two weeks.

So should the social services be everywhere? They visited this child 60 times! Serious mistakes were made- but Call Me Dave turned it into a screed of hysteria and bile in general. Still The Nasty Party, Liz.

I agree with all of this, Liz. Thatcher has destroyed this country with a slow acting poison.

It is an odd arrangement, Liz- hence the enquiry. A methodical inquiry- not the kneejerk of Call Me Dave. I will support whatever action the enquiry recommends, Liz.

Re: another failure by social services
So, we are fairly in agreement, it was a good thing this was raised in Parliment, otherwise there would have been no Indipendant enquiry, and Harringey social services would have PR'd this away, by thier own admission they offered to PAY for media courses, including for the police to deal with this, as they thought it would be a problem, fuck me! they are a fucking desperate disgusting bunch.

Re: another failure by social services
An enquiry would have been held anyway, Liz.
Haringey have left a lot to be desired in their whole approach- and the enquiry may well need to make recommendations concerning them.
But for Call Me Dave to make political capital out of a dead baby is just about the lowest the Nasty Party can sink.
We won't call you Dave- because you can just fuck off. You sad and nasty man.

"An enquiry would have been held anyway, Liz."
Yes, but the chairman of the enquiry would have been the director of HG social sevices, how can that be right, thankfully now it wont be.
"Haringey have left a lot to be desired in their whole approach- and the enquiry may well need to make recommendations concerning them."
Prison might be a good result.
"But for Call Me Dave to make political capital out of a dead baby is just about the lowest the Nasty Party can sink."
So you would rather it had never been mentioned in Parliment then?, it doesn't matter to me who brought the subject up, I am just grateful it was, for the sake of the poor kiddie who was killed in such a brutal fashion.
Remember the Ross/Brand Incident, that was brought up in Parliment, and lead to the demise of the controller for radio 2, and ended the career Hopefully of two untalented cunts...hopefully the same fate awaits the leader of HG social services, but this \gov dont have the gonads for that.
"We won't call you Dave- because you can just fuck off. You sad and nasty man."
Thats your personal view to which you are entitled, Compared to Thatcher, he's the tooth fairy.
