Oh yes.
Joe Kennedy was US Ambasador to the UK at the outbreak of the 2nd world war and advised the US govt to write off the British as the Germans would over run us and any help would be a waste of time and money.
He was an IRA sympathiser along with son Ted. So, good riddance.
A really shitty family apart fron John Kennedy who served well during the war and could've been a superb president if fate had deemed otherwise.

Glad it isn't just me who detested the man then??!!
My father was on holiday in London not long after President Kennedy got whacked by the CIA/Mafia/Teamsters/Jealous Husband - delete as appropriate and mentioned how sad it was to an American tourist. 15 mins later the Yank had finished how it would do America the world of good if they shot the whole Kennedy clan!!
His dad was a racketeer, his mother a nasty piece of work and both brothers would have humped a warm loaf. No tears please.

wasn't there a 4th brother who was killed in the war when his B17 or B24 was shot down?
JFK i think commanded a PT boat in the war, think he was the only crewman who survived when the japs sank it and swam to an island before being rescued, regarded as a war hero but think some say he was at fault for getting the PT boat sank.

To be fair, with a moral exemplar like Joe for a father, he wasn't
likely to turn out any other way. When Joe was US Ambassador here
during WWII he was all for cutting us off completely- a thoroughgoing
