What every one is missing with this item is the complete and utter wanker of a maintenance manager who has banned the chap from climbing the ladder and insisting that the church shell out ?5K for an autowinder.
As a manager the twatt should know about the Working at Height Regs. If a person is to climb over 6 feet (2 metres actually but FUCK the Frog measurement) then the ladder needs to be fixed to prevent it moving with a person on it.
In all the Government buildings I enter where lift motor rooms are in the attics and accessed by ladder from top landings the ladder stiles have hooks screwed to them with eyes screwed into the hatch lips. Thus when hooked into the fixed eyes the ladder is 'fixed' and safe as far as the regulations go. Also, perfectly safe as far as I am concerned and I'm a bloke who climbs ladders daily to access lift motor rooms.
Cost of hooks and eyes and fixing probably about ?10, as opposed to ?5K proposed by the maintenance wanker. I see these so called managers all the time, and I can assure you there are too many of the twatts.

I was stationed in Germany when we decimalised and I was used to converting DMs (Deutsche Marks back to LSD (pounds shillings and pence) and LSD to DMs and never had a problem as I had done it previously with dollars when in the Far East. I still sometimes convert sterling and euros when in Portugal and will next year when I go to Cyprus. Stuck in my ways I suppose.
Decimilisation was the biggest con ever by a Labour goverment. Darling fucking Harold it was, to paraphrase Alf Garnett. The biggest con ever by a Tory government was of course by Ted poofter fucking lying bastard Heath taking us into the Common Market. I voted for that, not a fucking union of european wankers.
Got 20 fucking useless DMs left over I can't use. That's about 5 quid in real money. Bastards!
