I like most types, from Glen Miller to Led Zep . I'm not overly impressed with opera but is that classed as a musical play or a drama with music ?
Saying that I intend to see a live performance next year if possible and I'll take it from there.

I thought ballet was utter crap but I got dragged to see Swan Lake this year and I sat enthralled for the whole performance which sort of amazed me. On that premise I will at least give Opera a chance but I suspect it will be my first and last go.

Maybe I enjoyed it because it was the first time I've seen it. I don't know but it was in Russia and performed by the Bolshoi crowd (I don't think it was their first eleven, probably mostly reserves) and it was truly spectacular. I even had tears in my eyes at one point but I think that was just the way I was sitting.

I think we can all takt that as our cue to keep certain people away from the disco on Friday night :o)

Much more than a handful but never a waste.

I'm not exactly sure what that means but I do remember live bands at the local "hop", then I remember when disco was the in thing. I also remember disco pubs in London pubs where you weren't allowed to dance but still a good place to pick up birds.
I still enjoy music but if someone asked me what is no 1 just now I would have to say "I don't know". That's not to say I don't like it but I class most modern music as performed by talentless artists but produced by very talented and savvy producers and technicians.
It says a lot about modern music when Dame Vera Lynn managed to top the album charts.
