I have to agree with Mr Wells, The Deer Hunter is one of my favourite films ever, Christopher Walken, John Savage and John Cazale are incredible in this film. As long as you don't tell us you've not seen Raging Bull either.....

Fatty Francis once said there is a point in Apocalypse Now where it stops being a film and becomes an experience.
This is true. A very heady, trippy, mesmeric experience in the fashion of 2001 perhaps.
But as it floods the senses, there's still the nagging suspicion that's it's all just one big hollow bang.
