As I said I misunderstood what you were stating and I wasnt the only one. I realised I might have misunderstood which is why I posted a correction before you replied.
Shaikh was clearly British. So to say that someone isnt British because he has a conviction for being a drug smuggler, doesn't make any sense to me. He was British whether you like it or not.
"The twatt the Chinese topped got what he deserved whether you like it or not."
I choose to disagree.

Keith, how are you so confident of your assumptions? Fair enough, he broke Chinese laws and will have to take a Chinese punishment. I do, however, think the whole thing unfair and unjust......and if he's murdered by the state then he's the victim of barbarity.
Somebody suffering from acute mental illness wouldn't be able to organise and carry out a smuggling operation very well or be very interested in such an activity.
I could turn it around and say only a madman would attempt drug smuggling into, or out of, China. You see where I'm going with this I'm sure.

He was Pakistani, flying with Polish passport. He left Britain several years ago after being declared Bankrupt and owing money.

Are you sure you studied psychology? I don't profess to know much on the subject but I'm sure there are different types and levels of mental illness.
Who are we to tell the Chinese judicial system what they can and can't do anyway?
And who are they to do what they want without criticism? Telling someone what you want and forcing someone to do what you want are very different things. If something enrages us we should be allowed to express it.

That's a good point actually. At least with ordinary goods that become unfashionable or socially unacceptable it's a lot easier to leave them alone. With an addiction, one tends to shoot the messenger rather than face hearing about the damage you might be doing to yourself and others.
Drunks do this all the time. Try telling a piss-pot he's had too much and they'll usually tell you what a little school prefect you are and drink all the more just to defy you.
Once again my ideas fall apart under examination.

Read the statements. They would appear to contradict your unfounded assertion that he "organised a drug smuggling operation".
