Any suggestions.
I hate the winter, the cold rain, the damp, the early dark nights.
For some time I have been thinking that if I can afford it I would go away over the winter months, 2 months min 3 months max. Don't want to go to a warm climate, I want to go to a hot climate. Southern Europe is out so are the Eastern Mediterranean countries. North Africa? not sure I could stand Tunnisa, Algeria or Morocco for that long. What about Vietnam, Thailand, Laos or Cambodia - always told what great places they are but as a single guy I'm not sure I like the rep of these places (If I pay then one or both of my sons will insist on tagging along). I know a few people who holiday for a month in Goa and they tell me its well worth the visit, I also have a lot of Eastern Canadian friends who spend their winter in Cuba, but both Goa and Cuba seem very small places to spend 3 months. Once again I keep being drawn back to Australia, the land of my mid-teens. Perth or Brisbane seem the place to be, I hitch hiked one way across the Nullarbor in 1968 and drove back the other way in 1970, this time I could do it all in comfort. I guess if you wanted a rest from Oz then NZ is only a few hours flight away as are the Western Pacific Islands.
Well thanks a lot people, in airing my thoughts you have helped me to make up my mind, Oz it is.
