Yeah, and see what happened when the countries housing projects moved from local council control to the banking sector (via mortgages).

1. Thatcher makes it easier for the working classes to own their own homes.

2. Houses became too expensive for even the middle classes.

3. Banks increased lending to compensate.

4. House prices increased even more.

5. Banks increased lending to compensate.

6. People can't afford their mortgages and decrease spending.

7. House prices crash as no one is buying.

8. Lenders cannot get their money back and banking collapses.

9. Tax payers have to bail out banks to keep the whole economy going tits up.

10. Everyone blames Labour.

I was born in 1990, so I have no real recollection of what the Conservative years gave.

A Google search under the term "Good things Mrs Thatcher did" provides "no" good things... Not one.

Here are the major "achievements" according to a 5 min search on the web:

Sent SAS commandos into the Iranian embassy to shoot people.
Attacked the Falkland Islands.
Closed down a highly profitable, thriving industry in the shape of the coal mines.
Resisted international pressure to impose economic sanctions on South Africa.
Destroyed the Soviet Union by smashing up walls.
Created the Poll tax.
Started a secret police force called Section 28 to attack the Gay community.
Banned children from drinking milk.
Started the Gulf War.

So it would seem that Mrs Thatcher destroyed this country and many others.

So, my question is why did people re-elect her?
(And I don't think photoshop existed then, so that can't be the answer)
