I was living in Copenhagen at the time - the home of Carlsberg Elephant, 11% proof lager. I drunk quite a few and boogied the night away in a pub/disco. At about 5am, well pissed, I tumbled out of the pub and got on a bus which I thought was taking me to another part of Copenhagen where I lived.
I fell asleep on the bus and then got shaken awake by the bus driver when he got to the last stop. I got out and realised I was in the middle of the Danish countryside in mid winter. The next bus was 3 hours later. I spent the time shivering and sobering up fast in the bus shelter.
Never again. Well, never again getting on the wrong bus, anyway.
