Dear boy,

Perhaps you should start taking your own advice.

Alternatively, can we have more of these grown-up, incisive, funny comments, please?

There are some people on reading your posts who may think your "boring" comment in this thread, is an example of pot calling the kettle black.

Obviously, I couldn't comment. But then I am not particularly interested in what was the all-time best episode/series of Auf Wiedersehen Pet.

Takes all sorts though, doesn't it eh?

I'm a Chelsea supporter and I was ashamed by the reaction Wayne Bridge got on Saturday. When at Chelsea he always gave 100% and, as others have rightly pointed out, he's made only one comment about the whole affair (pardon the pun) and that was to say that, for the sake of his children, he wouldn't be making any comments. He is the injured party, and never deserved the boos he got.

As for Terry... I'm probably one of only a few Chelsea supporters who was hoping he would leave for Man City in the summer. Fine defender though he can be at times, I believe that overall he is a liability. His "Mr Chelsea" persona is suffocating the club, and having seen him around Cobham, Esher, Weybridge, Oxshott etc., he has even less humility than Adolf Hitler.

If it were not for football, I seriously doubt Terry would have stayed out of jail had he followed a less well paid profession... he is a yob. Worse than that, he is a yob with money and, in certain respects, power.

Sadly, many Chelsea supporters are also yobs, and see in him what they themselves would like to be. That's why, whatever he does (from arguing with referees, brawling in bars, through abusing American tourists the day after 9/11 to sleeping with his best mates wife) they'll adore him. Cunts the lot of them!

Terry plays as a left central defender. Bridge plays as a left full back. They are essentially next to each other on the pitch and having to communicate constantly with each other during the course of a game. It might have been different if one was a left full back and the other a right winger...

Agreed

Hi Bob,
I agree totally about Terry. I can remember Ken Bates when he was Chelsea chairman making some comment about Terry being at a crossroads as to whether he went into a life of crime/yobbishness or knuckled down and concentrated purely on the football.

I always thought it was absurd when McLaren made him England captain - asking for trouble.

I do hope Bridge can reconsider his position in the team. I think Capello made a shrewd move when he said that the door was still open for Bridge, should he change his mind.

He mighn't think so now, but given Bridge himself has said it has been a real honour to play for England, I do hope he doesn't end up in later life thinking about what might have been. It's a different scenario but the likes of Greaves never forgot missing out in the World CUp final.

Cheers
