This is a wild shot in the dark but if it did happen (big IF)...How would people feel if there was no way of filesharing as you know it anymore? This means no music or films or anyhting that is copyright material
I know many of you are thinking this is an impossibility but just for a second...What if it did happen?

Re: Question re: filesharing
I'd rejoice. It'd be one less thing to keep my 10 eyes on and have to deal with. I know some people say it's because CDs, DVDs etc are priced too high but if people can avoid paying, whatever the price is, they will.
The filesharing sites know they're contributing to theft by providing there services but do nothing about it except put up lame disclaimers and warnings - and then charge for it. So for me I'd be very happy to see them all disappear.

Re: Question re: filesharing
I agree.
I think its wrong that these people who run file share sites harp on about making things for free but expect peopel to subscribe to their service to get these free links.
Its no wonder why people dont see it as stealing as it is legitimised in their mind by the links being out there for free and if they subscribe to the site then that consolidates it in their mind.

Re: Question re: filesharing
Also, you can be sure that because some people pay to use the filesharing sites they don't think it's stealing - they don't understand/care that none of the money goes to the producers/actors/models/artists/photographers etc etc.
As for the making things free line, the people who run the sharing sites have obviously never made anything in their lives. People work to make money to live. This lot are just scroungers.

Re: Question re: filesharing
When the two main political parties get in on copyright theft, what chance has anyone got?
We have need of you again, great king.
Re: Question re: filesharing
I wish there was no internet so people could stop fucking blaming every one of their failures on it, excluding present company. The music industry's been blaming plummeting record sales on the net for years. Nothing to do with the fact that most people didn`t want to buy the shit churned out like fucking boyzone and the spicegirls. Easier to blame the net than take accountability yourself.
Bukkake shots where you are with a few other guys...is fucking gay.
In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.

Re: Question re: filesharing
When all porn producers and vendors (the ones who promised to deliver in a plain brown package, then delivered nothing ) are honest and squeaky clean, then start complaining. Put your own house in order.
There always was piracy and there always will be. It's just the format that changes
I'm not saying it's right or condoning it but that's life.

Re: Question re: filesharing
My house is in order, my site does what it says.
The point is that piracy/theft has rocketed thanks to the filesharing. People don't see it as stealing. Before filesharing etc if you wanted a bootleg or copy of a film it was under the counter type. Now everyone can do it.

Re: Question re: filesharing
Amen.
Music sales were on a downward spiral since before the cd. They liked CDs when they first came out because lots of people spent money repurchasing their music collections that they'd bought already on vinyl....same with the movie industry and DVDs.
Now technology has moved again and it happens to be a media they can't control as tightly. If there's anything big business and governments hate is less control. Too bad. Either adopt and adapt or die.
P2P is used for many more things than illegal file-sharing. Everything from iPlayer to online gaming to certain communications software. It's clever tech and interfering with it stops innovation.
About 17 of the top 20 most grossing movies of all time have come in the last 10 years so any complaining that piracy is detrimental to Hollywood is talking out of his arse.
What's not helped the industry is insisting on putting drm on their stuff. Drm is a pain in the arse. There's still hundreds of pounds-worth of music I purchased from iTunes over the years that I can't put on my phone to listen to because of drm. I bought the phone and I bought the music but they want to control which device I listen to it on. Stupidity. People in droves downloaded illegal stuff not just because they were cheap (though obviously that group probably made up a decent percentage) but because downloading legal stuff meant it was poor quality, drm'd and too restrictive.
It took Apple what, 6 years before they twisted the music industry's arm to take off drm? And even now, 7 years after iTunes first started you still can't get cd quality, lossless music.......well, you can, but via the likes of *********, not iTunes or the Amazon mp3 store.
I'm not happy that I've had to repurchase albums I've bought on iTunes in the past just to get it on my phone. For every pirate that's got free music there's someone like me who's bought the same stuff twice because of drm. I've been shafted as much as the companies that are crying about it all, it's just that they can afford fancy lawyers and influence governments while I have the odd internet forum to vent my anger.
I've no sympathy tbh.

Re: Question re: filesharing
People buying legit porn must also have increased because every deformed bastard with a camera thinks he can make his first million in porn. Yet there`s more people actually buying porn now. I mean about ten years ago most people had a shit, fuzzy 50th generation pirate VHS copy of some porn flick that was made in the seventies. Yet now people are paying about 20 quid a month repeat subscription to websites, buying dvds on the net and buying movies to download.
