Clement Attlee was a politician. Thatcher was a politician. Churchill was a politician. Kinnock was a politician. Clegg is a politician.
Are they all the same? I don't think so.
If the electorate sets their expectations uniformly as low as you appear to, then they are more than likely to get what they expect.
If the people who voted Lib Dem are accepting of the Lib Dem party turning upside down the vast majority of the policies they voted for, then more fool them.
