YOu do not appear to understand the context of my reply in this thread.
Porn Historian appears to lay the blame for the Iraq war purely with Blair and the Labour government. My point is that without the Tories wholeheartedly backing the goverrnment in the Iraq war vote it is unlikely that the war would have gone ahead with the same level of British involvement. A defeat on this vote would have made this highly unlikely.
Jimslip's view is that the Tories were influenced by the dodgy data in the debate. This does not appear to me to be logical given that I quoted IDS and WIlliam Hague making statements more extreme than anything that came out in the dodgy dossier and the British Intelligence Agency. Secondly, a far bigger percentage of the Labour MPs voted against Blair, their own leader than the Tories.

Correct , Eric. I would not nor could not argue against that. My basic point is not affected at all, by anything in your post. That basic point is that both Blair, Labour MPs and Tory MPs have blood on their hands. The only party that comes out of all of this worthy of any respect is the Lib Dems.

However, blood in buckets lies on the hands of the Tories as well, for their failure to oppose the vote in the way that a large number of Labour party members and the Lib Dems did.
If it hadnt been for this largely unquestioning support from the Tories it is unlikely that British involvement would have occurred. Just as if more of the Labour MPs had voted against.
No more to be sensibly said on this point unless you believe any of my points are not true.
