Terrible news....

Post by jj »

... if permanent.
Iafd, after a few days in which the site was more down than
up, seems now to have completely erased the vendor-links
for every movie [as an example, there were more than
150 000 movie-links to Excalibur's site alone, comprising
almost 60 000 titles].
This removes the very useful resource of being able to jump
directly to a boxcover of a title you're researching.
As such links often included an iafd-to-vendor discount on
the purchase-price, I wonder if this is commercially-driven.

Nothing has been mentioned at the IAFD site or at the
http://forum.adultdvdtalk.com/forum/for ... =5/517.htm
I have no clue if there was a server crash or whether IAFD no longer wants to post vendor links (which probably brings some needed financial resources to the people manning the IAFD ship).
Perhaps you should drop Jeff a note and ask him to comment here, or perhaps at the IAFD site.

I'm hoping against hope that it's just a major glitch; if it
persists, though, I'll do just that.

...and since the site is now down again, I may be panicking
over nothing. It was the thought that any future research
would take me about twice as long as it does now that got
the old ticker hammering [or at least, wincing occasionally].

....let joy be unconfined- all is now tickety-boo, copacetic
and apple-pie with iafd.
Have forwarded their address to my cardiologist, who will
doubtless be sending them a VERY stern letter

Well, at least our very small part of it. And there is a
short video of me receving CPR on Youtube...

...which I will be forwarding to iafd.
I did do a vaguie bit of checking in the iafd 'cupboards'
before my first, panicked, post, for some form of more
detailed announcement. Perhaps the next time the site
undergoes major surgery they'll post a more informative
bulletin than just "downtime"- it's a bit like visiting
the British Museum, only to find the doors locked and a
sign saying merely "closed for redecoration".
